NRCA Announces New Partnership to Enhance Workplace Development

Jared Mellor is an experienced construction professional who works with Roof Systems Consultants. A roofing specialist, Jared Mellor is also a member of the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA), which provides educational resources, among others, to its members.

The association entered a partnership in May 2020 with the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) to enhance the NRCA’s workforce development offerings. With the agreement, the organizations aim to develop a career path from education to certification for roofing professionals.

To that extent, the NCCER announced an expansion of its curriculum to better prepare individuals to pass the NRCA ProCertification® exams. The NRCA ProCertification® is awarded to professionals who show substantial knowledge about roofing systems and the skills needed to install them.

Nick Sabino, NRCA’s chairman of the board, welcomed the new partnership, noting that the NCCER shows a substantial commitment to workplace development. He also claims that the agreement will increase the number of applications for NRCA ProCertification® in the future.
